 Visiting observatories is every astronomer’s dream, especially if guided by somebody who works there. Even though the often clouded tropical skies are not the best for observation, the scientific team at the Merida research center makes good use of the big an powerful telescopes. In spite of its remoteness and altitude (3600 m) it is amply visited by tourists. [map]
