Termesos is one of the best preserved archaeological sites in south Turkey and the only town that Alexander the Great never managed to conquer. During the 2nd and 3rd centuries B.C., Termesos was at the peak of its glory and boasted as many as 150000 inhabitants. Hundreds of sarcophagi are scattered around the site, giving it an eery atmosphere.
