See a familiar name? (For help click here.) Yes,
Antonio is (also) a composer who wrote music for about a dozen theatrical plays. It's very hard to
hear it because he doesn't have any recordings, just scores. So Goyito and I were very happy
to find out that one of the plays is showing in a theater in Caracas, especially since
the music presents an important part of the story of La Noche (The Night). And so we went. As we were standing in a long queue to enter the hall -- in spite the fact that Goyito and I, and also the autor of the play who called him on the phone, urged Antonio to skip the line -- we were given the programme with all the names. Goyito and I of course first looked for the composer. And there it was: ![]() Goyo and I went berserk. Now Antiono had two ten-year-olds to control (unsuccessfully). El Maestro!!! And as if that wasn't cool enough, we got, as we finally made our way to the entrance, received by the assistant director who ushered us to the best seats in the theatre, reserved just for us. They were on the stage itself and since they didn't expect Goyito, there were just two of them so he was sitting on the stage floor. When the play began everything was happening all around him and the night fairies even took him among them at one stage of the play. No need to mention that he enjoyed that a lot. As for me, the Maestro's wife, I've never felt so important (and proud!) in my life. |
